BDSM Site DomTheNation Launches

NEW YORK — Two-Flame Media, the parent company of Assylum.com, has launched its new flagship membership site DomTheNation.com following a delay due to the coronavirus lockdowns.

"Two major unique aspects of DomTheNation are how the content is created and where it is filmed," a rep explained. "The site is shot by its main Dominant, Neil, with few or no crew members and with the help of motion control and audio recording devices that have been specially made for the site. The action takes place in the great outdoors across America and is captured with a combination of spherical and anamorphic lenses, lights that double as sexual and sadomasochistic devices, log shooting techniques and custom color profiles and a purpose-built offroad expedition vehicle."

The rep said "there are no scripts and no takes," noting the performers "negotiate sexual and other parameters in advance and then act, react and film spontaneously."

Site producer Dr. Mercies expanded on the site's philosophy.

“What we’re really announcing is a radical departure from pornographic expectations, BDSM cliches and the age-old cultural wall that separates the abysses of our libidos from the heights of our minds and souls when we express ourselves," they said.

"We use a range of camera rigs that are built for grab-and-go, high-quality shooting in any situation. We have a shower that we take into the desert. We shoot in the rain and the freezing cold with waterproof microphones, rain jackets that don’t make crinkly sounds and heated base layers. We prepare to shoot in any light or no light. The result, though different from that of a film made by a large crew of people doing many takes, has its own cinematic beauty — naked humans in vast landscapes, constantly shifting light and perspectives, a continuous real-time inching toward improvement that reflects the ragged beauty of who we are."

Mercies noted a range of content and performer skill sets.

"Brutality, filth and perversion are unashamedly on display,” they said. “So are tenderness, silliness, imagination, reflection and dialogue.”

Mercies explained the performers are asked to "share their skills, interests, ideas and feelings — sexual and otherwise — with each other and to use their time in nature together to create meaningful interactions that stimulate viewers both during and beyond the act of masturbating. We’re putting people together after they have been carefully screened, and we’re saying, 'Go have fun, fuck, scream, cry, create or discover something. Be yourselves, without shame or inhibition.  Remember the viewer, because they’re here too, but don’t forget each other’s individuality in the process.'"

Forthcoming content, the rep explained, includes "veteran BDSM models who enjoy kink in their everyday lives" as well as "intimate couples from the BDSM community and professional artists."

"Couples will help the site bring love onto the screen," they said. "Artists will help the site crack the wall of shame and institutional arrogance that continues to divide 'serious' art from explicit expression of our sexual being."

The DomTheNation website "offers some unique features, as well as many best practices for content delivery. Members can navigate by geographic location of the adventures and also by type of adventure," explained the rep. "There are text, photo, movie, clip and non-conforming 'other' posts, and all are interlinked. Movie and clip posts stream in Cinemascope at up to 2K. All video material in both the tour and member area play back adaptively at several bit rates. Downloads are also available for both photos and videos, with 4K downloads available to premium members."

Meanwhile, "an area has also been reserved on the site for future special productions."

Following the launch of Assylum, noted Dr. Mercies, "people looked at the white walls of the padded cell and told us they needed to be replaced with black walls, because BDSM happens in dark rooms. We kept our walls just as they were, and eventually viewers came to understand and appreciate our offering. Now we’re taking down the walls completely. A lot of walls, on different levels. DomTheNation has been and will continue to be a great adventure.  I invite others to join us on it."
